SMAU is a creative fiction and role-play toy — a simulated phone you author and explore. By using it, you agree to these terms.
SMAU runs entirely in your browser. There is no account and no server that holds your data — see the Privacy page. You use it as-is, for personal, creative, and entertainment purposes.
If you connect your own AI provider with an API key, you are using that provider under their terms and pricing. You are responsible for your own API key, for any usage costs the provider charges you, and for keeping your key secure. SMAU does not control, and is not responsible for, what a third-party AI generates. AI output can be wrong, strange, or inappropriate — treat it as fiction, never as fact or advice.
You're responsible for what you make and for what you import. Don't use SMAU to create or share content that is illegal, that infringes someone else's rights, that harasses or targets a real person, or that impersonates a real person or organization to deceive. Story files you import come from other people; open them at your own discretion, and cancel if SMAU warns you a story reaches out to the internet and you'd rather it didn't.
SMAU is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. It's an independent personal project and may have bugs, may change, or may become unavailable. Because your data lives in your browser, clearing your browser or switching devices can erase it — use the built-in backup feature to keep a copy of anything you care about.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the developer isn't liable for any loss arising from your use of SMAU — including lost data, or costs charged by an AI provider you connected. Your use of SMAU is at your own risk.
These terms may change; the effective date above will change with them. Continuing to use SMAU after a change means you accept the new terms.
